About the event

The Asklepios association, which manages the museum, organizes a symposium, a special exhibition, or an excursion for its members twice a year. These events are also open to all interested parties.

This year, the Spring Symposium will be held on March 22, 2025, at the Queen Astrid Military Hospital, where the museum is located.

The theme of this symposium is "Breast Imaging." This radiological examination originated about a hundred years ago, hence the museum's educational team's choice. The various speakers will explore history: When was the first breast radiograph performed and discussed in the literature? How has all this evolved? What is the role of ultrasound? And does MRI play a significant role, and if so, how?

The target audience is not just the medical imaging profession, but much broader. Even laypeople can take advantage of this opportunity to learn a great deal. Accreditation has been requested for physicians under number 25002729. Definitely of interest to students of MBRT and Nursing.

Traditionally, the presentations are given in Dutch and French, sometimes also in English. The projection is always in English.

The museum asks for a small contribution of €10 to support its operations, students pay only €5, and members of the museum's Friends Circle participate for free.

The symposium will be held in the Multipurpose Hall of the MHKA, level -1. Directions will be provided from the hospital entrance hall.

Start is at 10am – end is scheduled at 1pm.

During the networking event there will also be an opportunity to get to know the museum.
